FHM Australia’s 100 Sexiest Women

I might have misjudged when voting in the Australian edition of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women closed. In my post here I encouraged readers to vote for Emma Stone, and I though you still could vote because the FHM Australia site was still allowing voting. But this evening I purchased the June copy of FHM Australia and it has the 100 Sexiest Women winners for Australia featured.

So in order to allow compilation and printing time there is no way that voting was still open on the 7th May when I did my post. Computers may have decreased the time between final layout and printing, but they have not decreased it so much that you can declare “send it to the printers” on the 7th of the month and then have the publication in the shops on the 10th.

As you can see from the Top 20 table I compiled (above) the winner is Katy Perry—just scraping in ahead of Jennifer Hawkins followed by Miranda Kerr, Megan Fox, and Jessica Alba.

For those not too sure what Katy Perry looks like I have included a sample picture at right as a memory jogger.

I am keying this posting up from my motel unit while away working so I don’t have any useful raster editing packages installed to smarten the picture up . If I did I would have edited out that marking on the wall behind her head.

You will note that Katy has come from 15th position last year to 1st this year, which is a pretty good pick-up in votes. On top of that she has managed to poll ahead of Jennifer Hawkins, Miranda Kerr, and Jessica Alba—all previous winners as far as I can recall.

However I am sure you are far more interested in where Emma Stone polled. Well for someone who did not even make it into the Australian FHM Top 100 last year Emma achieved to make it to 38th spot. A pretty good effort I thought.

I picked up a few other things of interest from reading through the Top 100. Interesting stuff like Anne Hathaway (pictured at left), who made it to 22 in the 100 (she was 20th last year), is playing Catwoman in the next Batman movie. Guess I might have to make the effort to go to the movie theatre for the first time in about 10 years. I’ve watched the Get Smart movie (on DVD) about 10 times now.

Kate Beckinsale, voted the sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine in 2009, made it to 21st place (see was 12th last year).

One of the largest falls was Angelina Jolie who fell 59 places from 7th last year to 66th this year.

Other place getters who you might be interested in (I was anyway) were: Zooey Deschanel 39th, Summer Glau 56th, Kaley Cuoco (from Big Bang Theory) 57th, Doutzen Kroes 64th, and January Jones 85th.

Another sort of interesting listing was Kate Middleton (now Mrs Prince William) at 98th. Even more interesting was that she also made the Top 100 in 2009 but dropped out in the 2010 voting.

A closing thought: For some reason I thought Katy Perry was English but she is an American. She was born in California in the USA.
