Tree trunk sheep pen (probably on Lochada) circa 1995

This is a picture of a tree trunk sheep pen made from local trees.

My notes suggest this was taken in 1995. That being the case then this tree trunk sheep pen was in good condition for that time.

Unfortunately, I don’t recall exactly where this was taken. However, I am sure that the hills in the background are the Koolanooka Hills east or Morawa. Hence, this is somewhere behind the Koolanooka Hills. My knowledge of the station country east of the hills indicates this was most likely taken somewhere on Lochada Station.

If they are the Koolanooka Hills in the background then they are too close for this shot to have been taken on Karara Station and they are too ‘square on’ for it to be Kadji Station. That brings me back to Lochada.

For those wanting to see the fence work up closer, following is my best attempt at an enlarged close-up. Remember, I am starting from a scan of a slide so you have forgive the quality. But hopefully this attempt at a closer picture of the fence gives you a better look at it.

This close-up is 2,500 pixels wide, so if you click on it then it will fill the width of a 24” 2560x1440 screen (assuming you have your browser set to full screen, which you can do with the F11 key—on a Windows computer)..

And, because I like playing around with Luminar filters and making my own, here is what I call the Frontier filter version of the original picture. Just because I can.

If you would like to watch a short-ish video taken in station country east of Morawa and Perenjori featuring the Lochada area then you could check this out.
