Semi-humorous Graphs: Consumption of Pills

There are a number of Web sites featuring what I would call semi-humorous graphs or plots.

Why semi-humorous? Well while in the main they are intended to be humorous, most of these plots or graphs are, in a way. on the money. They are correct.

Take the following example from MyModernMet.

This plot or graph suggests that with enough coffee one can reach the heights of being a God a few times a day.

It is intended to be humorous. But for those of us that can barely function without coffee it is also on the money.

So, with that approach in mind here is my first semi-humorous plot.

While not intended to be accurate the idea is that it is intended to impart the idea—to be moving in the right direction.

What this particular graph is trying to impart is that as we get older we will need to regularly consume more and more drugs each day—for one reason or another. Maybe to keep daily pain at bay. Maybe to control blood pressure (which just naturally increases as you get older). Perhaps to maintain sugar levels because, like blood pressure, if you live long enough you are just about guaranteed to develop type 2 diabetes no matter how good your diet is or how much you exercise. Or even if your are just trying and make up for the vitamins and minerals that you then have trouble obtaining from food.
