Off the air for two days and six years of posting to Abalook

In August of this year (2015) Abalook has been 'on the air', or on the Web, for six years. I don't know how many posts that is and I really can't be bothered trying to work it out. There was a time when I would have either e-mailed SquareSpace and asked them or tried to work it out somehow, but nobody really cares how many posts I have done.

Sadly the number of visitors per day to my site has plummeted down to about 10. There was a time when I was getting over 150 visitors per day. Something went horribly wrong when I upgraded my site from SquareSpace 5 to SquareSpace 7 and the numbers have never recovered. Almost overnight during the upgrade I lost about 130 daily visitors. I have no idea why that happened, but they have never come back. So I thank those ten visitors who are still visiting my site.

Also just recently the agency that registers my domain name blocked my site because I had not paid my annual DNS registration fee. What had happened is that I stopped monitoring an old e-mail account which was the e-mail address that they had. So although they tried to let me know my DNS registration was coming up for renewal I had not seen the e-mails. As a result of this issue my site was off the air for two days.

I will keep posting stuff now and then. It gives me something to do when I am bored and/or depressed and want something semi-fun to do.

As I try to force myself to get back into my only hobby ever of taking pictures it is likely that more and more posts will involve pictures I have taken.

Again, thanks to the handful of visitors still popping in to see what's happening.

Barry.
