Titbit: Samsung Galaxy S IV expected mid-March
It seems that Samsung will be releasing the successor to the Galaxy SIII (S3) in mid-March. So if you were about to buy a Galaxy SIII because you wanted to have what is generally recognised as the best rated smartphone currently available then you might soon be able to buy it for about $100 less.
Or if you want to wait for the S3’s successor, which is the SIV (S4) then you don’t have much longer to wait.
So. What do the ‘experts’ think the S4 is going to have? Well from the various articles I have very quickly reviewed the following items seems to be the current favourites.
- A better camera featuring a brighter f2.2 aperture, more accurate focusing (although the S3 is already reputed to have the best focussing accuracy with the possible exception of the Nokia Lumia 920), and a massive 12 or 13 mega pixel camera (depending which rumours you read).
- A 30 percent more powerful battery which, because the new phone uses less power, extends battery life by about 50 percent.
- A 5” AMOLED screen (the S3 has a 4.8” screen) but the physical size of the phone does not change.
- An improved antenna (because the current antenna in the S3 sucks big time).
On top of this there is talk of things like a flexible screen (but I am not too sure why that is good), higher screen resolution up around an eye-popping 440+ ppi (the S3 is 306 ppi), maybe wireless charging (like the Nokia Lumia 920, but I don’t find wireless charging that interesting), and an eight core processor.
I am sure if you trawled around the Web you would find some other rumours, but these seems to be the favourites.
Well there is only about a month to wait to find out, that is unless unless the whole mid-March thing is totally wrong.
If they really do fix the antenna I might re-consider upgrading to a Galaxy smartphone.
