ABotM: Emma Watson
By popular demand (okay, only one person asked) Abalook’s August “Babe of the Month” is Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame. Sadly for all the Emma fans she has indicated that she is not planning to take up any new acting roles anytime in the near future unless they are “completely amazing”. Instead she is going to focus on study and schooling, getting into designing clothes [“ … it is so much fun and so exciting”], and doing some high-fashion modelling work—which she apparently enjoys doing.
Emma featured in the 2010 Burberry advertising campaign. The following picture comes from that campaign [the picture links to the page at Emma’s site featuring the campaign].
According to what I could find Emma has already done some design work on tee-shirts in some kind of collaborative arrangement with an organisation called People Tree. I tried to find an example of the tee shirts designed by Emma and I think, but am not sure, that the tee shirt at left is an one of Emma’s designs for People Tree. It has embodied red roses around the neckline.
Emma has also done a number of magazine shoots including Vanity Fair, Teen Choice, and US Vogue. The following picture comes from the spread she did for Vanity Fair last year.
As is usual with my ABotM posting I put a lot of time into into trying to bring you the pictures you generally do not see plastered all over the Web or in magazines. This has taken me well over six hours on the case of Emma—to find them and edit them for posting.
The picture at right is Emma on the red carpet at the 2010 Met Costume Institute Gala looking pretty amazing in a full white dress featuring, according to the interview notes with the picture, a three-quarter split. I just have to say that if that is a three-quarter split then I can only wonder what a full split looks like.
If Emma appears a lot taller in that dress than you remember her being (she is 5’5”) then that would be the 5” inch heels with a 1” platform that she is wearing (which sadly we cannot see because the dress is in the way).
Emma was born in Paris, France in April 1990 and she speaks three languages: English, French, and German.
Emma managed to score 23rd spot on the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World for 2011 putting her ahead of Miranda Kerr (44th) and Amber Heard (34th).
Emma was 29th in the 2010 list.
For anyone interested the FHM Emma Watson gallery of 40 pictures can be found here. But my pictures are better. Seriously. Better cropped (they have cropped her legs off in most pictures including the white dress picture). Better colour editing. Better digital noise removal. Well I think so anyway.
Emma, who for two years running has rated in the Top 5 best dressed celebrities, says her biggest fashion obsession is high heels. According to one blog I read she once bought 11 pairs of heels in a single shopping outing. Presumably, as she is one of the richest actresses around (Emm’s wealth is estimated at £65 million), we are not talking about Spendless heels that cost $79.95—probably more like $799.50 a pair and higher.
In the picture at left Emma is wearing $1,200 Christian Loubourtin Butterfly black leather heels recently made famous by Lindsay Lohan (see my post here and thanks to emmaAddict for the link).
Okay. I think I have run out of interesting little titbits to write about Emma so I will finish off with a couple more images and that will be August’s Abalook Babe of the Month wrapped up and ready to post.
