The ‘Adrianne Affect’: Average Uniques per Day over 130
I would have to say that I am pretty happy with the statistics for my site so far for December. My official average unique visitors per day is sitting at 131 and it may well go up a little bit yet as the month still has a few days to go.
As you can see from the screen grab of the SquareSpace statistics I have only had two days in December (circled in green) where my unique visitor count was not over 100. There are four days where I got 150 unique visitors or more, and one day (the 21st) where I got over 200 uniques for the day.
While in the big picture 131 uniques per day is pretty pathetic this is a great improvement for my little site compared to the first ten months of the year where my average uniques hovered around the 65 mark.
I am not too sure exactly what happened in November and December but for some reason my original posting of Adrianne Palicki (here) become very popular as did my last two postings of SCN at Falls Farm (here and here). Also getting a good number of views were the Amazing Transformation (here), the Tennis Poster (here), and the Puzzle of the Soccer Girls (here and the solution to the puzzle here).
I am a little bit worried about what happens when the current interest in Adrianne calms down. So far in December there have been 1,472 links to the Adrianne posting accounting for (almost) 20 percent of all views.
My overall second highest count postings are the 2nd and 3rd postings of SCN at Falls Farm which combined clocked up 661 views or about nine percent.
Based on the bloggers theory that goes something like “the more people who visit your site then the more people you will get visiting your site” based on the premise that they will tell other people about it—maybe I will hit 200 uniques per day before mid-2012.
On the other hand a realist might point out that when the excitement about Adrianne dies off my average might plummet back to the 65 per day mark where it was in October before the ‘Adrianne affect’.
