11 days to the 20th Anniversary of Twin Peaks

How exciting is this? We are at minus 11 days now until the 8th of April 2010—which marks the 20th anniversary of the pilot of Twin Peaks going to air in ‘those there United States of America’ [that last bit is most effective spoken with an American accent].

Thank goodness that in this boring barely tolerable life there are the occasional bright bursts of brilliance like Twin Peaks to make things just that tiny bit more interesting and shiny.

Found on USA Today’s “Pop Candy”

In surfing around looking for more articles on the Twin Peaks anniversary I found an article in the Pop Candy section of the USA Today site. In this article the Pop Candy crowd bring out what they think are 10 memorable (unforgettable) moments from the series.

In these memorable moments they include a video clip of the scene in the sheriff’s offices where Special Agent Dale Cooper’s ex friend and workmate Dennis turns up for a visit. But Coop is surprised because Dennis is now Denise—having decided to change his sex. Denise is played by a very fetching David Duchovny (of X-Files fame).

Pop Candy also include a video clip showing Chief Gordon Cole; who is played by David Lynch himself. Chief Cole is complete with hearing aid and loud shouting (because he always thinks other cannot hear him). Then, when the boyfriend walks in as he is kissing the girl (who is married) Cole describes the scene to the boyfriend in “director speak” when the boyfriend asks “What the hell’s going on?”

In this video clip you also catch a glimpse of Heather Graham who plays Anne Blackburn in the series—Coop's girlfriend.

The final memorable moment is that famous final scene of season two where we find out that somehow the evil spirit, Bob, has now merged with Special Agent Cooper. Sadly, as they never made season three, we never get to find out where this leads.
