52Photos: Week07—Jean’s Hibiscus

A couple of days ago was the first anniversary of the passing of my sister Jean. As my article I posted here kind of talks about, my sister basically brought me up to about school age because my mum was busy working in the family shop.

Two or three days after her passing I came across a hibiscus called, more-or-less, Jean. It was actually a two-part hyphenated name but I completely forget the other part.

I am not much of a gardener but I have managed to keep this plant alive for a year. I have gone out every day in the summer and given it a drink. Even on the 40+ degree days. Never missed.

Taken today, this is a picture of one of the four flowers on my Jean hibiscus.

And yes … I did give it a wee spritz of water before taking the picture. I mean … doesn’t everyone want water drops on the flowers when they take their pictures?
