52Photos: Week 04—Settlers Wall
I only got these picture taken just in time for the Week 04 posting to Facebook. I went out at around 1:00 p.m. today, the last day before Week 05 clocked over, and took them.
I wonder if anyone knows where this is. Or, for that matter, what it is.
It is on the outside wall of the Settler’s Restaurant at Forrestfield (Western Australia).
When I went there today to take these picture I initially thought that I was too late. Too bloody late! The outside wall like this that was part of the Settler’s Restaurant had been taken down and replaced with glass. The wall I wanted to photograph was gone!
Apparently the Settler’s Restaurant at Forrestfield has closed and gone.
Initially I was somewhat annoyed, or worse, that I was too damn late once again to get a picture that I had been planning to get for months. But then I remembered that they had given this same treatment to the wall inside the shopping mall as well. So I crossed my fingers and went into the mall. YES! It was still there on the inside.
So, assuming this feature wall going to be taken down or replaced as well, I might just have taken the last possible pictures of this very interesting and colourful wall made of all different bits and pieces of painted wood ends that kind of look like they were recovered from a country town rubbish tip.
This second picture of the same wall (below) is three shots that were combined using focus stacking with Photoshop. This was done so that more of the wall appears to be in focus as you look along it than could normally be in focus. This was done using the focus stacking built into my Sony a7r V full-frame camera.
