The Movie: A History of the Morawa District 1850 to 2006

A few weeks ago I did a post called “The Book: A History of the Morawa District 1850 to 2006” which was an 808 page PDF document that can be downloaded and read. This posting is here if you missed it and want to check it out..

This posting is about the 57 minute DVD that was produced as part of the centenary celebrations for the town of Morawa.

Obtaining a copy of the Morawa Centenary Celebrations DVD is almost impossible. I personally tried obtaining it via the Morawa Shire. I tried once via an e-mail exchange followed up by a phone call, then I tried again in person on a visit to Morawa. None of those attempts worked. In fact I got the impression the people at the shire were not even sure what it was. They referred me to the Morawa Historical Society—at least I think that is what it was called.

As it happens I eventually came across a copy of this DVD and I have converted it to an MP4 format so that it is more Internet friendly.

Note that the MP4 is almost 4GB in size as I have tried to retain as much quality/resolution as possible in the converted file. Hence, if you download or watch this video via a mobile device using cell data it is going to consume close to 4GB of your data allowance.

When you click the link the video is set up to being playing automatically. If you prefer to download the video to watch later or to share, then pause/stop the video and use the ‘Download’ option at the top of the screen. This will then cause the video to download to wherever your download folder location is set to on your computer.

Here is the link.
