After 51 years of full time work I am now trying out Rerirement

RetiredSign.jpg

As from the 1st of February (2020) I am trying out retirement.

Many have warned me that retirement is not all it is cracked up to be. That I will get bored. Might become depressed. Will miss working. Get into sloppy habits and sleep in most of the day. Probably drink too much. Gain (even more) weight. Go stir crazy staying in the house all the time.

On top of that I get advice that am likely to go through my self-funded superannuation faster than I expect.

Well! Hopefully I will find enough to do. I have a number of project in mind, including finally going through all my slides and negatives, with the plan being to get the ‘good’ ones digitized so I can post them on this site.

Also, to rekindle my passion for photography . Get out and take more pictures.

I think I can make it work.

I hope I can make it work.

But I don’t doubt that it will be a challenge for someone who has often said of themselves “My best trick—possibly my only useful trick—is working”.

So. Here I go on the next big adventure! Retirement.
